The University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship offers fully funded opportunities for international students pursuing master’s and doctoral programs. The scholarship provides $30,000 per year for doctoral students and $25,000 per year for master’s students, as well as a travel stipend of $5,000 that can be used for the duration of the scholarship study

Eligibility Criteria for the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship:

To qualify for the University of Saskatchewan Graduate Scholarship, one must meet the following requirements:

  • Required Language: English
  • Eligible Countries: All countries
  • Scholarship Eligibility: Recipients of the University Postgraduate Scholarship (UGS) must be full-time, fully qualified students continuing in their program or in the process of being admitted to a postgraduate program.
  • Program Duration: Students applying for or holding a UGS must be in the first 36 months of a master’s program or the first 48 months of a doctoral program.
  • Academic Requirement: Applicants must maintain a minimum average of 80% as a continuing student or meet the entry average as a prospective student.

1) Complete the online application.

  • A cover letter outlining the progress or anticipated progress of your graduate program
  • Current Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Summary (up to 500 words) of the proposed research program and its start date
  • Official transcripts from all post-secondary institutions attended, excluding the University of Saskatchewan

(2) Submission of Recommendation Letters:

  • Three confidential letters of recommendation from individuals familiar with the student’s academic achievements must be emailed to graduate studies. premii@usask.ca. Respondents should mention the name of the scholarship and the name of the student in the first paragraph of the letter.
