West Virginia Science, Engineering and Technology Scholarship Program

The West Virginia Engineering, Science and Technology Scholarship Program (also known as the WV STEM Scholarship) is a student financial aid program intended to support students pursuing degrees in the fields of technology, science and engineering in West Virginia.

Scholarships do not not exceed $3,000 per academic year, and are awarded on the basis of academic qualifications and interest in the fields of engineering, science and technology.

UnderwoodSmith Teaching Scholars Program

The Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars Program is a scholarship for recent high school graduates with a passion for teaching and a history of high academic achievement, community service, and active participation in extracurricular activities during high school. Recipients will receive $10,000 per year for up to four years (up to the cost of tuition, room and board, and other approved educational expenses). In return, Underwood-Smith Learning Scholars must agree to teach a West Virginia public school in an area of ​​critical need (mathematics, science, elementary education, or special education) for a period of five years after their college graduation.

The scholarship may be used at any West Virginia public or private non-profit college or university that offers teacher preparation programs approved by the West Virginia Board of Education in mathematics, science, elementary education, or special education. Each year, up to 25 new Underwood-Smith Teaching Scholars are accepted from a national pool of applicants. WVJC offers an online/hybrid nursing program to students in the Parkersburg area. These students benefit from online nursing courses and clinical rotations at WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center and WVJC’s Mobile Nursing Lab!

WVJC nursing students prepare for nursing exams through classroom, laboratory and clinical courses. The program emphasizes pediatrics, obstetrics, women’s health, gerontology, medical-surgical nursing, and neonatology.

WVJC nursing students benefit from a WE CARE approach, direct admission nursing program, interactive nursing labs, student support services, CCMC clinical rotations and career services.

West Virginia Invests Grant
