France Excellence Eiffel scholarship program

The Eiffel Excellence Scholarship Program was established by the French Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs to enable French higher education institutions to attract the best foreign students to enroll in their master’s and diploma programs .

It offers opportunities to future foreign decision-makers in the private and public sector, in priority fields of study, and encourages foreign candidates up to 25 years old at master’s level and candidates up to 30 years old at doctor’s level.

The Eiffel France Excellence Scholarship Program is an instrument developed by the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs to help French higher education institutions attract the best foreign students to master’s and doctoral programs.

applications submitted by French higher education institutions are only accepted.

Fields of study:
The two main disciplinary sectors of the France Excellence Eiffel scholarships cover the following seven areas of study for the Master and Doctorate components:

For Science and Technology

For Humanities and Social Sciences

  • History, French language and civilization
  • Law and political science

Educational levels:
French higher education institutions that present candidates to the France Excellence Eiffel program undertake to enroll them:

  • in training leading to a master’s degree
  • in an engineering course
  • in a joint doctoral program (co-supervision of the thesis and/or double degree), in partnership with a partner institution abroad.

The France Excellence Eiffel Scholarship is awarded for a maximum period of 6 to 36 months from September 1 of the year in which the scholarship is awarded.

École Normale Supérieure (ENS) International Selection

The international selection competition is aimed at students of literature and science who have completed the first cycle of studies abroad.

The international selection competition takes place in two stages:

  • a selection on file
  • written and oral tests (Letters), or oral tests only (Sciences).

The ENS opens 10 places for scientific disciplines and 10 for literary disciplines.

The winners of the competition are students of the École Normale Supérieure. They receive a grant of 1000 euros per month for 3 years and have a room in one of the School’s campuses. At the end of their studies, they receive a diploma from the École Normale Supérieure as well as a master’s degree in their field of specialization.

Erasmus+ Program – ( Postgraduate Scholarships for International students in France )

Erasmus+ is a program of the European Union that supports education, training, youth and sport.

The joint offer of the Erasmus Mundus master is a study program that gives scholarships to the best students in the world for one or two years, regardless of their course of study. To take advantage of this, students must pursue the master’s degree in at least two countries participating in the program. Some French higher education institutions offer joint master’s degrees. As part of bilateral agreements between higher education institutions, Erasmus+ also offers mobility grants to and from France. They cover travel and accommodation costs. Some joint doctorates are still financed by the old Erasmus Mundus program and still offer scholarships. However, the joint European doctorates (DCEs) created under Horizon 2020, the research and innovation program of the European Union, will gradually replace them.

The Charpak Scholarship Program

Charpak’s scholarship program offers three types of funding for Bachelor’s and Master’s levels.

This scholarship is intended for one to two years of study in France at Master’s level for all sectors and fields of study.

  • Monthly allowance is 860 euros
  • Waiver of student visa fee
  • Exemption or reimbursement of study costs in France
  • Social security
  • Housing assistance (priority access to CROUS residences, subject to availability)

Please note that the scholarship cannot be combined with another French government scholarship, an Erasmus scholarship or a scholarship offered by an institution or organization that covers your living expenses in France. In addition, your scholarship may be suspended or terminated in the following cases

– if you sign an internship or professionalization contract.

– duration of a non-obligatory internship as part of the training.

– if the study program includes a gap year or an academic exchange or any duration abroad, in the same institution or in another institution.

The applicant must:

  • be of Indian nationality or an OCI card holder
  • be a maximum of 30 years at the time of application
  • be a currently enrolled student or have studied at an Indian institution of higher education
  • must have as well  applied for admission to a French institution before applying for the scholarship. To find out about the admission procedure, contact your nearest Campus France office in India or consult the website of your chosen institution. the course must be taken in France. If you have completed one or more semesters of study in another country, the scholarship will not be awarded during this period.
  • knowledge of French is an asset, but it is not mandatory to apply for the scholarship.
  • The scholarship is available for master’s programs in France. You are not eligible if you want to work on your master’s thesis, your training program or your research project.
  • The scholarship cannot be combined with another French government scholarship, an Erasmus Mundus / Erasmus + scholarship or a scholarship from the Agence Universitaire de la Francofonie.

INSEAD Scholarships  ( Postgraduate Scholarships for International students in France )

University of Evry-Val-d’Essonne (UEVE), University of Paris-Saclay (UPSaclay), University of Versailles-Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines (UVSQ).

These scholarships are awarded for 1 or 2 years to students admitted into a master’s program at the University of Paris-Saclay, depending on their admission level (M1 or M2), and are subject to verification of the number of credits needed to progress year of higher education.
