International Maverick Scholarships

The International Maverick Scholarships for exceptional and bright students for the academic year 2022–2023 are proudly announced by Minnesota State University Mankato.

International students who intend to enroll in any undergraduate program beginning in the spring or summer of 2022 are eligible to apply for this scholarship.

Minnesota State Mankato values the cultural contributions made by international students to our campus and surrounding areas. All first-year undergraduates are immediately eligible for the International Maverick Scholarship.

If you want to keep getting the scholarship after your first year of college, you have to meet these standards.

  • Preserve your legitimate J-1 or F-1 immigration status.
  • Get a cumulative GPA at Minnesota State Mankato of 3.0 or a term GPA of 2.5.
  • Acquire and successfully finish a minimum of 12 credits per semester (grades A–D and P count toward completed credits; F, W, I, IP, and NC do not).

MSU Mankato is situated in the medium-sized town of Mankato, Minnesota, which has a population of between 10,000 and 49,999. Founded in 1868, it is a public higher education institution that is non-profit.

Minnesota State University, Mankato (MSU Mankato) has received official accreditation and/or recognition from the Higher Learning Commission. Scholarship Requirements

The International Maverick Scholarship is available to exceptional undergraduate students. The coverage will cost $3,890 based on a student completing 12–18 credit hours per semester.

After your first academic year, you must meet the standards below in order to maintain your scholarship.

  • Countries That Be eligible: Applications are welcome from candidates worldwide.
  • Courses or Disciplines That Qualify: Any courses and subjects connected to an undergraduate degree are eligible for this award.

Qualification Requirements

  • To be eligible, candidates need to meet all of the standards given below:
  • Applicants must obtain a cumulative Minnesota State Mankato GPA of 3.0 or a term GPA of 2.5.
  • The applicants’ F-1 or J-1 immigration status must be in effect.
  • Candidates must earn a minimum of 12 credits each semester; • Candidates must perform six acts of community service each academic year.

Procedures for applying to foreign maverick scholarships

Applicants who are enrolled in an undergraduate degree at Minnesota State University Mankato are eligible to apply for the International Maverick Scholarship.

Prerequisites For Entry

To be admitted to the university, applicants must have:

  • an ACT English score of 18 or higher,
  • a minimum SAT Critical Reading subscore of 400, or a minimum SAT Reading subscore of 22.

Prerequisites in language

The following tests of the candidates’ English language proficiency must be passed with passing grades:

  • TOEFL PBT 500;
  • TOEFL IBT 61;
  • IELTS 5.5

Benefits of Scholarship

The university will provide the International Maverick Scholarship to every accepted undergraduate student; however, they must pay $3,890 every semester.
