Coverage of DAAD Scholarships

Qualifications for the 2024 DAAD Scholarship
In order to be considered for the Masters and PhD Germany DAAD Scholarship 2024, candidates need to fulfill the following requirements:
- German or English are required languages.
- English is the language of teaching for programs offered abroad. Usually, an English language competency exam, such the TOEFL or IELTS, is required.
- The language of instruction for other programs is German. Usually, a German language certificate—like the DSH or TestDaF—must be presented.

- Candidates have at least two years’ professional experience.

How Can I Apply for the DAAD Scholarship?

Is it possible to apply for more than one DAAD scholarship?
For a maximum of three courses, you may apply.
In the DAAD application forms (see 7. Selection of host university/institution in Germany), please indicate the courses in order of priority if you are applying to multiple courses.
Do not alter the order of priority in the corresponding application form!
Documents Needed for the DAAD Scholarship:
- Current date on DAAD application from signed
- A personally signed resume with the most recent version (please use the sample europass form available at http://europass.cedefop.europa.eu/).
- A personally signed, two-page letter of motivation that includes a current date and details about the applicant’s chosen postgraduate program(s) and present occupation.
IMPORTANT: You must provide a motivation letter outlining your reasons for applying to these particular courses and your priority selection when you apply for multiple postgraduate degrees (up to three courses).
- A reference letter from your present employment; it needs to be current, on letterhead, signed by an official stamp, and not be enclosed in a sealed envelope.
- A guarantee of employment from your current employer upon returning home, if possible, and a certificate(s) of employment from the employer(s) attesting to a minimum of two years of relevant work experience (after the bachelor degree) at the time of application.
- Language proficiency evidence: IELTS or TOEFL in English (note: the institutional TOEFL is not acceptable).
- German: Needed for classes instructed in the language
- Copies of academic diplomas, with verified translations available upon request
- Academic Transcripts with the grading system included (certified translation if needed)
- Along with their application materials, applicants from the People’s Republic of China are required to send an APS Certificate.
Note: Extra documentation might be needed for some courses. For more further information, please refer to the relevant course description that may be found on the relevant websites and in the booklet. Completed applications must be sent in either German or English in order to be considered.
Guide to the DAAD Scholarship Application and Selection Process in Detail:
1. Selected relevant courses based on your interests. (Only three courses may be applied for by one person.)
2. Apply to colleges where those courses are offered.
3. You submit your finished application(s) and the aforementioned paperwork straight to the colleges.
4. A DAAD scholarship selection committee makes recommendations for possible applicants.
5. DAAD will get in touch with the recommended candidates to ask them to upload their finished applications to the DAAD Portal. (DAAD will send you an email with the URL to the DAAD Portal.)
